Noridc Skiing can be found in the Shuswap Lake area. There is Larch Hills cross country ski area, with 125 km of trails, about 43 km of which are track set. A chalet greets you near the parking lot, and Cec's cabin is about 6 km up the trail. www.skilarchhills.ca Skmana Cross Country Skiing, outside of Chase. There are 15 km of groomed and track set trails for beginners to advanced. Easy 4.5 km trail around Skmana Lake for the novice. Warming hut near Lake, 500 meters from parking lot.

In winter there is abundant snow on the mountains, particularly Mount Washington, for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and tubing. Cross-country skiers should head to Strathcona Provincial Park where 55km/34mi of trails await. These trails are the same ones used by a multitude of international teams training for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Mount Washington - This year-round resort near Courtenay/Comox boasts the deepest all-natural snow base in Canada.

We have hot chocolate and hot apple cider availabe after a day of winter activities. Our area is great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and hiking. The Paulson Cross-country ski trails are just 25 minutes east from us, great groomed tracks and warming huts, take a bagged lunch.Red Mountain is just east 45 minutes in Rossland. Phoenix Mountain is west 45 minutes. Nature graces us with eagles, ravens, and occasionally a lynx and wolf.
