BC Residents – Be a tourist in Vancouver!

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Are you planning a visit to Vancouver, BC?  Here is a great reason to say ” yes”, and to plan that visit in May, as Tourism Vancouver and partner attractions are holding a “Be a Tourist in Your Own Town” event.  As part of Vancouver 125 all BC residents are invited to be a tourist in their own city by taking advantage of over 30,000 free tickets from participating attractions.

Each day during the promotion period, a different area attraction will be revealed as “the attraction of the day”, offering BC residents a limited number of free admission tickets.  How can you find out which is the attraction of the day?  Follow Tourism Vancouver on twitter (@MyVancouver), on Facebook and on their website early each morning to discover which is the attraction of the day.  Register at tourismvancouver.com/BAT to download a coupon for two free admission tickets valid for the following day, but be quick as they’ll go fast!

Some of the great attractions in and around Vancouver offering these free tickets include the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, Britannia Mine Museum (which recently won the 2011 Canadian Museum Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Facility Development and Design), Capilano Suspension Bridge, Fort Langley National Historic Site of Canada, Greater Vancouver Zoo, Harbour Cruises and Events, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, Science World at Telus World of Science, Stanley Park Horse-drawn Tours, UBC Botanical Gardens and the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Make Vancouver your home base and enhance your visit by staying at a great Vancouver Bed & Breakfast.  It’s the “Better Way to Stay” you know!  Our Guild has a downtown Vancouver Bed & Breakfast, Bed & Breakfasts in the Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, Point Grey and UBC areas, accommodation near the ocean or Bed & Breakfast accommodation on Vancouver’s  North Shore and other areas of Greater Vancouver.  Your Vancouver Bed & Breakfast hosts can fill you in on all the other things to see and do around the city, so you’ll need to spend a at least a few days to fully enjoy this city!
