British Columbia Bed and Breakfast Canada Innkeepers Guild

The British Columbia Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers Guild (BC Innkeepers) is a professional association of innkeepers of quality B&B lodging in the province of BC, formed for education, marketing and representation. Founded in 1992 as the Western Canada B&B Innkeepers Association, the Guild not only changed its name in 2007, but refocused its goals and objectives to better represent the Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers of British Columbia, and specifically the members of the Guild.

The Guild defines a Bed & Breakfast as a property that:

• is situated on residentially or agriculturally zoned land
• is the principle residence of the owner/operator, who provides personalised hospitality
• is licensed as a Bed & Breakfast accommodations by the appropriate licensing authority in the community/region
• serves breakfast included in the lodging rate
• is residential or agricultural in character

The mission of the British Columbia B&B Innkeepers Guild is to provide a network that supports:

Our vision is:

We are the only province wide Bed & Breakfast lodging organization in British Columbia. We work together for professional development, group marketing, and mutual support. We believe in the Bed and Breakfast accommodations industry and we are committed to making our B&B member establishments successful. The Guild represents the Bed and Breakfast lodging industry to all levels of governments, through education, cooperation and communication. We are proud of the quality of our member establishments and of the role we play in our communities and the accommodation industry.

We are committed to growing the B&B lodging industry, and its share of the accommodation market. Our long term goals are to increase and strengthen the Guild through a strong membership base, to allow us to increase our marketing efforts on behalf of our members; to create and develop programs leading to community awareness of members and their properties; and to significantly raise our members' profile with the traveling public.
