Savona British Columbia is located on the west shore of Kamloops Lake, where the Thompson River exists the lake, halfway between Kamloops and Cache Creek BC. 655 people call Savona home.
Originally Savona was located on the north shore of Kamloops Lake, where it was the end of the stagecoach line on the Cariboo Wagon Road. It was also the western terminus of two steamship lines that provided regular service to nearby Kamloops and the Shuswap area.

At nearby Juniper Beach Provincial Park you can find some of the best steelhead fishing in the world. In July you can watch the sockeye salmon passing through here on the way to their spawning grounds on the famous Adams River. Painted Bluffs Provincial Park is home to a a population of California Bighorn Sheep as well as some historic mine sites and native copper diggings.
The semi-arid grasslands and hills of the surrounding countryside support ranching and agriculture. The site of the historic Six Mile Ranch has been transformed into a top level Savona golf course, with some touches recalling its ranching heritage. Don't forget to go for a refreshing swim, or do some water-skiing, in beautiful Kamloops Lake.
