Tsawwassen, BC, sits in the extreme southwestern corner of British Columbia, on a peninsula of land that juts out between the Strait of Georgia on the west and Boundary Bay on the east. Curiously, the southern tip of the peninsula is in the United States. The Twawwassen BC Ferry terminal carries passengers to Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, and several of the Gulf Islands.

The town’s name comes from the Tsawwassen First Nation people - one of the many Coast Salish nations who have inhabited this region for thousands of years. Today there are many reasons to come and spend time in a Tsawwassen BC Bed and Breakfast.

Nearby Boundary Bay Regional Park has a unique claim to fame: it is one of the few spots in the Pacific Northwest where the salt water is warm enough to truly swim, and one of the few places in the world where it is possible to swim between two countries. During low tide, the sandy bottom of Boundary Bay is a great place to explore tide pools and look for wildlife. Walk far out into the bay when the tide is out, enjoying views of Volcanic Mount Baker to the southeast.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular in the relatively warm and protected waters of Boundary Bay. And when the wind rises, Boundary Bay is a favourite spot for windsurfing and sailing. In the spring and fall, hundreds of thousands of migrating birds flock to the area, to the delight of bird watchers.

Other outdoor activities include cycling along the dike at Brunswick Point, just north of Tsawwassen, BC, and golfing at one of Tsawwassen’s two courses. From June to October, berry picking on nearby Westham Island is a pleasant way to fill the picnic basket with tasty treats. And relaxing at a Tsawwassen Bed and Breakfast is pleasant any time of year.
