White Rock, British Columbia Bed and Breakfasts
White Rock, British Columbia, is a seaside community that sits along the warm, shallow waters of Semiahmoo Bay. To the south lies the Canada/US border and Blaine, Washington. White Rock, BC, has a lot of personality. It takes its name from an enormous, stunningly white rock that sits near the shore – a glacial deposit from the Coastal Mountains.
Situated at the edge of the Olympic Mountains Rainshadow, White Rock, BC receives less rain than most places in the Greater Vancouver area. The weather is often pleasant and mild, making White Rock, BC, Bed and Breakfasts great spots for a getaway. Walk the beach promenade, stroll to the end of the 1,500 ft. long pier, or lounge on sandy beaches. In the summer, street musicians line the Marine Drive by the waterfront, creating a cheerful atmosphere.
Take advantage of Semiahmoo Bay, where there is outstanding sailing, windsurfing, and paddling. The warm waters make this also one of the most pleasant spots to swim on the Pacific Northwest coast. The Crescent Beach Marina provides a boat launch and boat rentals; try your luck with a crab pot, or sit back with a fishing rod.
There are fifteen golf courses in White Rock, BC, which is why it calls itself the golfing capital of Canada. The courses range from beginner par 3 to extremely challenging, and there are five driving ranges. All courses are within a 20-minute drive from the center of town. Ask your White Rock Bed and Breakfast innkeepers for recommendations.
White Rock, BC, boasts numerous festivals throughout the year. The Semiahmoo Bay Regatta and Kite Festival is a celebration of wind, water and waves.
