Maple Ridge, British Columbia Bed and Breakfasts
Maple Ridge British Columbia is located on the north bank of the Fraser River under the watchful eye of the Golden Ears and Blue mountains. Outdoor activities abound at the many surrounding parks such as Kanaka Creek Regional Park, Rolley Lake Provincial Park and Golden Ears Provincial Park. Yet this Metro Vancouver community is only 45 minutes east of downtown Vancouver.
Favorite birdwatching areas are the Pitt-Addington Marsh Wildlife Management area where you can find plenty of sparrows, ospreys, eagles and over 200 other bird species. Also check out the Pitt Polder for great birdwatching near Maple Ridge.
Pitt Lake is North America's largest fresh water tidal lake. Fishing is great year round for cutthroat and rainbow trout, while Fraser and Pitt River fishing offer enormous sturgeon and salmon.
Whether you are looking for guided trail trides, skydiving, boating, swimming, golf, or kayaking and canoeing, all are readily available in the Maple Ridge area.
At the centre of the Maple Ridge Museum is its model railway diorama. Other exhibits highlight the history of the large Japanese population in this area in the early 1900s. Nearby Haney House was built by local pioneer Thomas Haney and is one of 12 stops on the self-guided Fraser River Heritage Walk.
Maple Ridge is a community rich in history and outdoor recreation opportunities. Your stay at a Maple Ridge Bed & Breakfast will only enhance your enjoyment of all that this area has to offer.
